  The firm is successor to the Law practice of the late Ambassador George Chr. Pelaghias, established in 1952. The firm specializes in corporate law, international tax planning, shipping, offshore companies, European Union Law and foreign investments in Central/Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The firm has an active practice in assisting offshore investment funds in structuring their international operations and in obtaining a listing on the Cyprus Stock Exchange.

 

Dr. Pelaghias holds a postgraduate degree in International Affairs, as well as J.D and Ph.D. degrees (in Law and Political Science) from Columbia University. He is admitted to practice Law in New York and Cyprus. He served as adviser to the Cyprus Mission at the UN, is a fellow of the World Policy Institute in New York and the Western European Institute of Columbia University. He is the author of many legal and political articles and studies and has been a speaker at many international professional and academic conferences. Dr. Pelaghias is a member of the Executive Council of Intercollege - a private university, as well as a member of the board of the Intercollege Research and Development Center. He is the president of the Cyprus Council of the International European Movement and also serves on the boards of many companies. Dr. Pelaghias is chairman of the board of directors of the European Rim Policy and Investment Council (ERPIC).

Mike Mavrides focuses on working with hedge funds. His practice includes counselling domestic and offshore private investment funds, funds of funds, and other pooled investment vehicles, including general equity funds, arbitrage funds, market neutral, small cap, global investment and emerging market funds, distressed debt funds, multi-manager funds, group trusts for employee benefit plans and commodity pools. Mike advises them on a broad range of issues, including formation and structure, seed capital and joint venture arrangements, marketing and solicitation agreements, derivative transactions, private placements and all types of other ongoing management and operational issues. He also regularly advises federally and state registered and unregistered investment advisers, commodity pool operators, and commodity trading advisers on a variety of reporting, trading and other ongoing operational and compliance matters.

Christis is the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Cyprus. He is also the Country Leader for the Consulting Practice. He is an Economist and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Christis served as President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus from 2003 to 2005. He is still an active member and continues to serve on the Council of the Cyprus Institute.

Christis is also a member of the board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), board member of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Christis is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania for Cyprus.

Panikos N Tsiailis,

Panikos N Tsiailis is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA). He was educated in the United Kingdom.

He returned to Cyprus in 1979 to become head of the Tax and Legal Services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has been a partner since 1986 at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has more than 25 years of experience on Cyprus and International tax. He specialises in International Tax Structuring with emphasis on funds and real estate. He was elected as President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) in July 2007 and has been a member of the Council since July 2000. He has been a member of the tax committee of IPAC since 1981 and has been its president several times. He is regular writer of articles on local and international tax matters and also a regular speaker at various seminars on the same subjects.
